New Polymer Clay Designs in a Snap!

I love making snaps!  I think I like making them even more than beads.  I think it is because I can create so many different designs and I never seem to run out of ideas!  As a matter of fact, I challenge anyone to come up with a clay technique that cannot be created in a snap!

So why snaps instead of beads?  Because they can interchange and be worn in so many different ways!  This way we focus on creating the 'art' and the customer can choose how to wear it!

So here are some of our latest creations in a snap and ideas on how they can be worn.

Gone Wild with Animal Prints and New Snaps

My knee is slowly healing from surgery in June and is nice to be able to walk normally with less pain these days.  My doctor says just no jumping, running, jogging or twisting action until it is completely healed so won't be out on the dance floor just yet.  In the meantime, I have been keeping busy with my clay as much as possible and excited about some new things we are working on this summer.

I was looking through my clay cane stash to see what we could make into snaps for our interchangeable jewelry and came across a container of animal prints that I had forgot about.  I realized they would look really great as snaps and so had to make a bunch in different styles!  They are now available in our online store.

Sneak Peek:   A shipment of snap supplies just arrived and we have some exciting new items such as the bracelet with the zebra snaps and the magnetic eyeglass holder.  We will share with you as soon as they are photographed and listed in our online store.  Don't miss out on any future sales or discount codes by signing up to our newsletter.  We promise we will keep your info private and will not spam you.

Wild About Animal Print Beads

Like our animal print buttons, our beads are one of our best sellers as well.  We have them available in our ArtFire Studio as well as our Etsy shop.  They are listed as "made to order" and there are nine different shapes and four styles to choose from.

We generally have a supply of them in our studio ready to ship, however, we are also prepared to make more up if our supply is a little depleted.

We can do this by saving our information such as color recipes used to create the various canes and measuring the amount of clay required so each bead is consistent in size no matter which style or shape is needed.

WILD BEADST

Warning:
Images that remind you of real animals are purely coincidental.

Whew!  My Etsy inventory of animal print beads was getting a little low so had to round up some more leopards, tigers and giraffes to restock.  I've been working on tweaking my colors and cane designs and I especially like how this batch turned out.  I'm not one for mass production, but when I create my animal prints, I want to be able to remake them with the same standard size, shape, and colors so I can fill repeat and larger orders.  Each bead is created individually by hand making them all still originals.  Now I just have to tag and photograph them and they will be added to our Etsy shop over the next few days....

Dave had some fun with the beads as well and this is his creation:

* Note:  No leopards, tigers or giraffes were harmed during this process.

Wild Things

I've been feeling a little on the wild side these last few weeks since I had a real desire for making animal prints. I don't know exactly what it is that attracts most women to this style --maybe it is the little piece of our untamed nature or just a rebellion against our expected place in society. For me, however, I think of soft furry animals to snuggle up with. In any case, I enjoy creating these designs and the feeling I get touching and looking at them.

We've also added some new styles to our collection such as the "collier" with matching earrings and bracelets.  Let me know how you feel about these new styles.
