Time for a Fresh Start!

I can hardly believe it has been 6 months since my last blog post.  There was so much going on I was getting further behind so I just had to put my writing on hold until I caught my breath.  I was planning on starting the new year out right when everything came to a grinding halt.  My new years eve and day began with no electricity for 23 hours due to a huge snowstorm that was so heavy, it knocked down trees and power poles creating a real mess!  It was then I wished I had a gas stove or fireplace or even a little camp stove as there was no heat or any way to make a hot meal or drink.  All one could do was bury themselves under blankets to keep warm and wait!

I thought I managed to survive that until I came down with a bad case of the flu bug a few days later.  I was back up and half-ways running when I received the news that my dad passed away.  I was sad for the news but so relieved as he had been in memory care the past year and now he is no longer suffering.  This caused so much stress for my mom as her and dad were very close and they would've celebrated there 70th anniversary this year.

So again, I had to put everything on hold as I needed to head out to Alberta to help and support my mom.  I ended up staying a week longer than planned due to poor weather.  Driving through the mountain pass in winter time is not the best or safest time to travel so I had to find a time that seemed fairly reasonable and then go for it.

It is nice to be home again, safe and sound and slowly working my way at getting back on track but frankly, I wish I could hit a reset button and start 2020 all over again!  Since that is not possible, the best I can do is pick up here at this point and create my own fresh start.  I promise you it won't be another 6 months before I post again!  So I am off and will be back very shortly with my clay recipes for the Pantone Spring 2020 Fashion colors.  Perhaps some spring colors will help us get over the winter blues!

Pantone Fall 2019 Fashion Colors - Fruit Dove and Paloma

The last two colors of the Pantone Fall 2019 fashion color palette are a pink, Fruit Dove, and a grey, Paloma.  Fruit Dove is a bold yet pretty pink which Pantone describes as "extroverted" and "creates a presence that cannot be ignored." Paloma is "unpretentious and yet elegant".  It is one of the Fall Classics and was also one of the colors in the Pantone Spring 2014 palette.  You can see my post about it here.

Pantone Fall 2019 Fashion Colors - Guacamole & Eden

There are two shades of green in the Pantone Fall 2019 fashion colors -- both very different from each other.  Guacamole is my favorite type of green and is considered one of the "Classics" for the fall.  Pantone describes it as a "nutrient-enriched green and establishes a refreshing foundation.  Eden is a forest green and if you have my Clay Color System, you already have this recipe as it is the same as Cilantro #7-3.

Here are a few samples of these colors combined with some of the other Pantone Fall colors.  I didn't get the chance to play with the color Eden yet but I will have some samples later.

Pantone Fall 2019 Fashion Colors -- Rocky Road, Sugar Almond and Vanilla Custard

Many of the Pantone Fall Colors for this fall seem to be named after food.  Not only do the names sound yummy, I find the colors are too.  I am not a real fan of browns but they seem to keep creeping into my wardrobe.  The nice thing about them, however, is they are a great neutral than can be worn with so many other colors.

An all time favorite, for instance is teal or turquoise combined with brown.  This color combination seems to be one of my best sellers in my jewelry collection as it can be neutral yet so stunning.

I don't have any samples using the Rocky Road yet, however if you have my Clay Color System, then you already have this clay recipe.  So here are the recipes for these three colors using Kato polyclay:

Pantone Fall 2019 Fashion Colors - Orange Tiger and Dark Cheddar

There are two shades of orange in the Pantone Fall 2019 Fashion colors.  Both Orange Tiger and Dark Cheddar are very "bold and daring".  Here are a few samples of the two combined with each other as well as with Chili Pepper and Evening Blue.

Pantone Fall 2019 Fashion Colors - Feeling Blue

There are three shades of blue in the Pantone fall 2019 Fashion color series.  Galaxy Blue, Bluestone, which reminds me of washed denim, and Evening Blue, a classic navy.

If you have my Clay Color System, then you already have the recipe for Bluestone -- Denim #9-8 -- and Evening Blue -- Navy # 9-7 which are both pretty close matches.  Here are some samples of these blues in a few combinations.
