New Buttons & Bags for Fibre Expressions

Fibre Expressions is a quilt shop on the Sunshine Coast of BC in the town of Sechelt.  They sell a wide range of our handcrafted buttons but what is unique is how they create bag designs in which our buttons are incorporated.  They are put into kits which makes it more efficient when purchasing the correct amount of each fabric for the project.

They will be selling these kits, along with other goodies at the Quilt Canada show which happens to be coming up already next week in Vancouver.  Of course if you cannot make it to the show and looking to order some of their items, they can be purchased in their online store.

Here are a few samples of the bags they created and a close-up sample of the buttons used:

Gigantic Blooms

Leaves with Lady Bug

Celtic Heart

Brocade

Color Wheel

Exotica

And finally, I created these special Surfboards as an accent button for a beach bag design of theirs.

We also have our handcrafted buttons listed in our own online store here.  We have everything from real tiny that are suitable for children's wear or knit/crochet projects to very large as shown above.

Mini Blooms

Some of our buttons might not be listed in our store if we are out of stock so you can contact us (through our website) with your request or any questions.

Chameleon Pieces for the Chameleon Exhibit

Here are a couple photos of my work at the Chameleon Exhibit that I managed to snag off the Chameleon blog.

You can follow this event and see more photos of the ongoing exhibit if you click here.

And this is a close-up of some of the chameleon pieces I created special for the event.

This sterling silver necklace I titled "Emerald Forest".

And some chameleon brooch pins:

I am looking forward to seeing the entire exhibit in person when we head to Vancouver next weekend for the Horizon's retreat.

Preparing for Chameleon

It is getting closer and we have only a few more items to prepare.  Chameleon, an all polymer clay exhibit starts February 5th and runs until March 2nd at the Seymour Art Gallery in Deep Cove, Vancouver, B.C.

An event such as this calls for a special way to display our work.  We have been creating our own necklace forms in papier mache so they can hang on the wall.  Each display was individually made and customized to specifically fit each piece.

New Little Friends for the Chameleon Show

I haven't made any of my chameleon/gecko friends in a while but felt it was fitting to make some new ones in honor of the upcoming Chameleon Show.  Here is a sneak peak at one of the little guys.

The opening of the show also takes place around the time of the Vancouver biannual clay retreat.  I will be teaching how to create several Bargello style veneers to be used in various projects taught by other guild members over the weekend.
