Snowflake Shawl Pins

For the winter season we made some snowflake shawl pins in assorted colors -- Black, Blue, Teal and Purple.  The snowflake pattern on the end of the stick was made from the same snowflake finding used to create our snowflake snaps.

These shawl pins are now available at Donna's Yarn & Craft in Kamloops, BC and Kelowna Yarn & Needlecrafts in Kelowna, BC.  We also made extra and listed them in our online store here.

Winter Shimmer

Here are a few more necklaces that remind me of winter.  I enjoy working with color more than black, grey or white but we find this color combination is the most popular as it goes with nearly anything.  The plus of wearing a piece that is more "neutral" is that you can wear it with almost any color.

Fall & Winter

The weather is still pretty warm and I don't want summer to end but I need to plan for the winter and festive season ahead. I love plaids and apparently they are in fashion this winter so I've been experimenting with imitating this warm and cozy fabric with my clay.

    

    

For these earrings and pendant necklace I used a type of marbling technique and then inlaid my red and green strips. I gave the reverse sides a different look by texturing and then highlighting with metallic mica powders. I think they almost look like Christmas tree ornaments.
