Photo shoot photos done

We received the photos from our photo shoot and finally found some time to post them on our website.  I am still trying to figure out a way to embed a slide show so will do that later.  Colin MacArthur is a wonderful photographer and was a real pleasure working with him.  We couldn't have found a better model than Tiffany and the three of us had a really fun time that day.

Here are a few of our favorite photos.  You can see more scattered throughout our website, particularly in our jewelry and scarf accents sections.

Photoshoot by Natalie of One Love Photography

We love using live models any time we can to show off our jewelry.  It seems to really bring them to life and one can actually visualize wearing the pieces themselves.

I had a really great time yesterday afternoon with some new friends.  Natalie, of One Love Photography,  is a professional (and great) photographer and we had the privilege of her expertise in doing a live photoshoot featuring our scarf jewelry and earrings.  Sarah, Laura and Lilian were the lovely models and the photos were taken outdoors in our local park.  The autumn leaves created such a beautiful background and the sun managed to come out just at the right time in the middle of the chilly day.

Here are a few photos of that afternoon and you can see more on Natalie's blog/website here.

We plan to use the new photos in our upcoming Christmas shows as well as our website.

Finished Our First Show for the Christmas Season

Our first Christmas show was yesterday at the Kamloops Craft-a-fair.  It was a very busy and successful show and great start for the season.  Our booth set-up was a little different again this year with some new display props added.  We used all of our new "hand" displays as well as some framed photos of our niece modeling our jewelry.  Seeing the pieces on an actual person must have helped as we sold more of these "modeled" pieces than any other.

We also made these little stands to show off our earrings.  I planned to make some from clay but had too many things to do and too little time so I improvised with these.  I will show you in our next blog post how you can make your own.

Bargello in Autumn Colors

This is one of our latest Bargello sets in some warm autumn colors.  I show how to make the cube shaped beads in one of my latest tutorials, "Make Your Own Rondelle Spacer Beads".

Lovely Leanne is modeling this set.  I love how it seems to come alive on her.  Can you see yourself in it?

Jewelry Photo Shoot

I am currently finishing off some pieces to share with you in various combinations of the Pantone Fall 2011 colors.  In the meantime I wanted to share with you a few photos of our first jewelry photo-shoot.  We had a nice time visiting our niece, Leanne, and her family last week and she so graciously modeled some of our jewelry pieces for us.  Our plan is to have some of the better photos framed to hang in our upcoming shows this season.

The jewelry seems to come alive more when shown a real model as opposed to a mannequin.  In this collage, our "Fiesta Spiral" Necklace and Earrings are versatile enough to be worn formal with a dress or casual with jeans.  (Click on the photo for a larger view.)

Summer Heat

Summer has finally arrived here after a late start with plenty of rain.  Things have been so busy we were glad to take some time out to visit with family.  Some of them are so beautiful we couldn't miss the opportunity to photograph them modeling our jewelry.
