Quetzal Green and Limelight - Pantone Fall 2018 Colors

Pantone describes Quetzal Green as a deep elegant blue-green hue suggestive of rich plumage.  I have found purple and teals to be a very popular combination and this blue-green shade combines well with the Ultra violet and Crocus Petal.

Pantone describes Limelight as a pungent yellow-green, however, I  see it more as a pure yellow and having a difficult time trying to make it fit in with the remainder of the fall palette colors.  It does pair well with the Quetzal Green and I will do more experimenting which you will eventually see in some samples later on.

In the meantime, here are the recipes for the Pantone Fall 2018 Fashion colors Quetzal Green and Limelight using Kato clay.

Quetzal Green
4 parts Kato Turquoise
2 parts Kato Green
1 part Kato Pearl

Limelight
2 parts yellow
1 part White Mix # 1-2 *

Lots of New Scarf Jewelry for Fall

Over the past few months we have been working overtime to create some new scarf jewelry for fall.  I have been teaching Linda, our assistant, how to make them with me in a sort of production process and so we were able to create a wide range of designs and have some fun at the same time!  These take a fair bit of work to make but is one of my favorite items to create.  The bails are handcrafted from clay and then we hand-shape sets of clay beads to match.  After baking and finishing all the pieces, they are put together with unique charms and beautiful beads to create a balanced necklace.

Our scarf jewelry is one of our most popular selling items.  We have had a difficult time listing them online as they would sell so quickly.  This time we managed to document and photograph these latest pieces before we take them to our Christmas show coming up in less than 2 weeks.  We will be at the Kamloops Craft-A-Fair at the Sandman Centre on Sunday, November 5th.  We will be in the same location as past years (on the concourse - turn left at the main entrance and down a bit on the left hand side).  If you are not able to attend, we have a wide selection listed in our online store and also adding some select designs to our Etsy shop.

Our new classic collection is in a wide range of fall colors.  You can add one to your own favorite scarf or they can be purchased with one of our soft and luxurious linen scarves in your color choice.

Pantone Fall 2016 Fashion Colors Lush Meadow, Spicy Mustard and Bodacious

The last three colors in the Pantone fall 2016 Fashion Report are fun and vibrant.  Lush Meadow is a rich almost emerald-like shade of green.  Pantone describes Spicy Mustard as a spicier, zestier yellow than other seasons.  Bodacious is a bright rich purple with a hint of pink.  When I first mixed up this color, I found it to be quite similar to Radiant Orchid but with more Violet and less Magenta.

I think combinations of these colors would all work together but you could combine any of these with Aurora red as well.

So here are the last three clay recipes using Kato clay for the fall fashion colors:

Lush Meadow
10 parts Kato Green
1 part Kato Blue
1 part White Mix # 1-2 *

Spicy Mustard
9 parts Kato Yellow
1 part Kato Gold
1 part White Mix # 1-2 *

Bodacious
4 parts Kato Magenta
3 parts Kato Violet
3 parts White Mix # 1-2 *

Pantone Fall 2016 Fashion Colors Aurora Red and Warm Taupe

I am not a fan of the color Taupe as it does not look good on me at all,  I do like a rich red, however, and one of my favorite shades is the Pantone Aurora.  If it seems familiar to you that is because it was one of the Pantone fall colors in 2014.  It is the color I like to use to mix up my Faux Red Stone using the same technique as in my "Fabulous Faux Turquoise" tutorial.

Pantone Fall 2016 Fashion Colors

The Pantone Color Institute says that the new fall fashion colors were inspired from "the desire for tranquility, strength and optimism".  While some of this fall seasons shades are deep earth tones, some of the colors are quite vibrant.  Several of these colors we have seen before where others are new.

I apologize for getting the new color recipes out to you a little late  but they are now finally ready!  I haven't had time to play with all of the colors yet but hope to more this week.

After sharing all the color recipes with you, I will provide the recipe cards to download again so you can add them to your Clay Color System Library Collection.

New Jewelry Pieces for Fall

I love this time of year where the evenings are cooler and fall is right around the corner.  It seems easier to get more work done in the cooler weather as opposed to those hot lazy summer days.  We've been working on some new buttons and jewelry pieces in fall colors and designs.

Pantone Fall 2013 Fashion Colors and Emerald Color of the Year

I just realized how August is already more than half over and it is time to be thinking about fall colors already.  Pantone determines the fashion colors for each season and shares them in their Fashion Color Report.  I've been busy mixing these new colors up using the Kato Poly Clay and will share my new clay color recipes with you over the next week.

As I was mixing up the new colors I could imagine all sorts of various combinations.  I find the mixing process gives me the jumpstart I need for the next season.  If you like to make jewelry to sell or even for yourself, it is great to keep up with the current fashion colors so you or your customers will have something to go with that new blouse or dress they just bought.

Check out the video (click here) where Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, talks about and describes these new fall colors.

To start you off, I already shared the clay color recipe for Emerald which is the Pantone fashion color of the year.  If you click on the photo below, it will take you to the blog post with the recipe using Kato clay.

New Stick Shawl Pins for Fall

I've been working on some new scarf or shawl Stick Pins in fall colors and patterns.  The sticks we use are very sturdy and sharp so they go through most looser weave type fabrics as well as tight woven knits. They work great on anything from a scarf to a shawl, shrug or sweater.
