Clay Recipes for the Pantone Spring Fashion Colors Princess Blue and Toffee

The last two clay recipes of the main Pantone 2019 spring color palette are Princess Blue and Toffee.  Tomorrow I will share three more clay recipes which are the Neutrals.  Sweet Corn is one of these neutrals which I have decided to show here as well.  If you have my clay color system, you already have this recipe along with the Toffee.

Here are some samples I mixed up combining these three colors.  The earring dangles (diamond shape) are all reversible and can be worn on their own or added to the posts.

Clay Recipes for the Pantone Spring 2019 Colors Pink Peacock, Fiesta and Turmeric

The three Pantone Spring 2019 colors Pink Peacock, Fiesta and Turmeric are all close together on the color wheel so I wanted to play around with more color blocking to show how they go well together.

I find that the as I experiment with the same technique over and over, each time my ideas expand a bit more.  This is how we learn to develop our own style.  In playing around with simple color blocking, I came up with this circular design that looks like a bulls eye.  These earrings could simply be worn on their own or for more fun, interchanged with the diamond shape reversible drops.

So here are the recipes for the Pantone colors Pink Peacock, Fiesta and Turmeric using Kato clay.

1/2 part Kato Yellow

Clay Recipes for the Pantone Spring 2019 Colors Terranium Moss, Pepper Stem and Aspen Gold

This spring season, Pantone includes two shades of green - Terranium Moss and Pepper Stem.  Both lean towards the yellow side of the color wheel which I am more partial to.  Aspen Gold is a soft yet still vibrant golden yellow and combines beautifully with the two greens.

Here are some samples I made using these three colors.

Clay Recipes for the Pantone Colors Jester Red and Sweet Lilac

The Pantone spring 2019 color Jester Red is more a burgundy or crimson.  It follows along from past seasons but has a bit more red than the Tawny PortChili Oil or Red Pear.  It combines beautifully with the Sweet Lilac which is a soft shade of pink and a hint of lavender.

I have been playing around with creating some new earring designs and love using these new Pantone colors for my experimenting.  It is also a great way to see how the colors look when they are combined.

These earrings can be worn various ways and in different combinations.  The charms are reversible and can be hung on my interchangeable ear wires.

They can also hang from the post earrings at the back of the ear which create this cool swivel effect.  I think this design is worth experimenting a little more.  For the post/studs I used the stainless steel bezel frames which are not only easy to fill but give a real professional finish.  I have them available in my online store along with the button shanks as well.

So here are the recipes for the Pantone colors Jester Red and Sweet Lilac using Kato clay.

Jester Red
8 parts Kato Red
1/2 part Kato Blue
2 parts Kato Pearl

Sweet Lilac
2 parts Kato Magenta
1/4 part Kato Violet

New Clay Recipes for the Pantone Spring 2019 Fashion Colors

All my clay in the new Pantone Spring Fashion colors are now mixed and I am ready to share them with you!  These colors are so vibrant and just scream spring and summer!

I will start with Living Coral which is the Pantone color of the year for 2019.  It is a lovely shade of a peachy pink orange combo.  I love the fish with the coral in the water photo sample Pantone uses for this color, as it really shows off it's true nature.

The other clay color recipe I will be sharing is Mango Mojito.  Pantone describes it as a "golden yellow that feeds our craving for pleasant comforts."

I was playing around in combining these two colors and experimenting with color blocking in a minimalist style.  These earring beads are reversible and can be worn several ways when hung on my interchangeable ear wires.

So here are the recipes for the Pantone colors Living Coral and Mango Mojito using Kato clay.

 Living Coral

1 part Kato Magenta
1 part Kato Orange
2 parts Kato Yellow
4 parts White Mix #1-2*

 Mango Mojito

20 parts Kato Yellow
1/2 part Kato Orange
1/2 part Kato Gold
1 part Kato Pearl (optional)

Russet Orange and Meerkat - Pantone Fall 2018 Fashion Colors

The last two color recipes I will be sharing with you today are Russet Orange and Meerkat.  Generally there are 12 colors Pantone selects for each season, however this time there are only 10 plus five colors in a Classic palette.  Meerkat is one of those colors and I decided to include the clay recipe for it as it fits in nicely with the other fall colors.  Meerkat is also a lighter version of the Autumn Maple that was one of the Pantone Fall 2017 fashion colors.

Here are the recipes for the Pantone Fall 2018 fashion colors Russet Orange and Meerkat using Kato clay:

Russet Orange
3 parts Kato Orange
1/2 part Kato Gold
1 part Kato Pearl

Meerkat
1 part Kato Brown
1 part Kato Copper
1 part Kato Gold
1 part White Mix # 1-2

* Note:  These clay color recipes are created using Kato Polyclay.  Any of the base color "mixes" used are from my Clay Color System. (which is still on sale until the end of this week)

I have been playing with different color combinations from these new fall colors and if you would like to see some of them for more inspiration, you might want to follow my Facebook page here.  And you may want to click the like button or comment every so often so you will continue getting up to date posts.

My next post will include a summary of all the clay recipes and you can download the cards to print out if you would like.

Sargasso Sea and Nebulas Blue - Pantone Fall 2018 Fashion Colors

There are two shades of blue in this year's Pantone Fall color palette.  Nebulas Blue is rich and saturated with color.  If you have my Clay Color System, then you already have the recipe which is #9-3 (Blueberry).

Typically there are 12 major colors in the Pantone seasonal color selection but this palette consists of only 10 plus a "Classic Color Palette" which includes 5 neutrals.  One of the colors from this group is Sargasso Sea, a beautiful shade of Navy and still a popular neutral color that is considered to be "the other black".  The added pearl in the clay recipe not only gives it the perfect shade but also adds a bit of shimmer and depth.

So here are the recipes for the Pantone Fall 2018 Fashion colors Sargasso Sea and Nebulas Blue using Kato clay:

Sargasso Sea
8 parts Kato Blue
1 part Kato Black
1 part Kato Pearl

Nebulas Blue
Same as recipe #9-3 Blueberry *

There are two shades of red in this year's fall palette.  Red Pear is a blue-red with a brown undertone where Valiant Poppy is an orange-red with a gold undertone.  Both shades are very rich and bold and closely related to other shades from the past.  Red Pear is similar to Tawny Port from last years fall color with with a bit more red and Valiant Poppy also has a bit more red than the previous Aurora Red.

Here are the recipes for the Pantone Fall 2018 colors Red Pear and Valiant Poppy using Kato clay:

Red Pear
