Pantone Cockatoo

A lot of the Pantone colors tend to build on each other when they change from one season to another.  The Pantone shade of Cockatoo, for instance, is actually a lighter shade of the turquoise color Lagoon from fall, 2010.  If you have my Clay Color System, you already have the base recipe to mix up the lighter shade of Cockatoo.

Cockatoo
1 part mix # 8-3 (Lagoon)
2 parts white mix # 1-2

Here are some Cockatoo color samples to inspire you ...

I know -- I thought that was a little strange and sometimes I find a lot of times names of colors have nothing to do with that particular color at all. Perhaps we will have to ask Pantone about that one.

I LOVE THIS! Pantone colors are all so fabulous and Cockatoo is a prime example! We love it so much that we made it our color of the week and put together a fabulous outfit on our blog to show how to dress wearing Pantone's Cockatoo using a triadic color palette. You can take a look at it here www.weartostandout.com/blog/pantone-cockatoo and tell us what you think! xoxo, WearToStandOut
