Blog Debris Thursday

I'm up to my eyeballs in lizard tails and making faux turquoise.  Will have some more new stuff to show you soon.

In the meantime, I came across this video on carved candles the other day and it really got my mind whirling and thinking about how this could be applied to polymer clay.

Funny - I saw that video a few weeks ago, another clayer had sent it to me and thought that it might be a nice technique to try, too. We just hadn't gotten around to figuring it out.

Wow! That was so cool to watch it being done but seeing them lit at the end, they are awesome candles.

I had a couple of these candles several years ago, actually watched the artist make mine. It was really neat to watch and now as I clayer I never even thought to try to recreate something like that in clay BUT I bet it can be done!

What a wonderful video! I was amazed at how easy she made it all seem. It said one year of trained to be able to do it, sounds right, working with wax is all about the temperature. I did see a couple of tools is need to pick up! Thanks for sharing, Connie.
